Retention Specialist – Student Success/Access and Opportunity

Jefferson Community College, Watertown, New York, a member of the State University of New York (SUNY) system, is conducting a search for a Retention Specialist – Student Success/Access and Opportunity.

This position coordinates the student success program, designs and implements awareness programs and events, provides one-on-one transfer and career counseling, coaches at-risk students, and conducts academic success workshops in collaboration with other campus departments. This position may require some evening and weekend obligations. This position is contingent upon grant funding. Professional staff are expected to advance the College's focus on student success and completion and will work closely with the College's leadership to advance the mission of the Strategic Plan

Required: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three (3) years of appropriate professional experience. Applicants must interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations, foster inclusion, and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally under-represented in higher education.

Advertised Salary: $47,589/yr. for well-qualified individuals. Salary is determined based upon experience and education in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement as well as internal equity.
