This role requires an understanding of consumer finance with auto preferred. As a Risk Analyst I, you will work closely with the Risk Management team and individual business units to gather, analyze, and evaluate processes, procedures, strategies and KPIs or perform testing and monitoring of business activities. You will need to understand and perform duties related to documentation of requirements, scope definition, objectives, and implementation. You will document results, identify areas of opportunity, and suggest recommendations for improvement. Special projects and other duties would also be assigned on an as needed basis. You will also be responsible for reporting duties, including daily and monthly reporting management and other regular duties. This role may involve “as needed” analysis to address the needs of each department as well as senior management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Foster positive working relationships with peers and stakeholders as assigned; contribute to a culture of risk mitigation and disciplined practices
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of assigned business unit functions, systems, policies, and procedures
  • Understand operational objectives as directed by the Risk Management team; evaluating output requirements and formats
  • Contribute to development of or execute analyses and reporting related to losses, delinquencies, balance liquidations, interest income, fee income, and new originations
  • Contribute to development of, or perform updates to forecasting models related to risk evaluation in existing and future loan portfolios
  • Monitor the performance of the outstanding portfolios and securitization pools and provide analysis as directed
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses as needed for ongoing or one-time operational issues
  • Support projects, data collection and analysis, with ability to document findings
  • Perform thorough review of loan or application-level files; investigate and identify errors or causes for concern
  • Distribute and keep up to date reporting
  • Tracking and analysis of internal key performance metrics
  • Appropriately escalate to management as discovered urgent issues or deficiencies requiring immediate attention
  • Contribute to the creation of controls by identifying problems procedural gaps
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Support other needs of the Finance/Accounting department
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to make discretionary decisions

Qualifications:

  • Finance, Economics, CS, IT, Accounting, Business Bachelor’s Degree from accredited 4-year institution preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Consumer Finance required if candidate does not possess a related degree
  • Consumer loan portfolio risk management, financial analysis, data mining, or quality control experience preferred
  • Proficiency in software applications such as SQL, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Basic understanding of risk management methods and technique​
  • Demonstrated ability to apply complex financial and statistical principles​
  • Knowledge of finance, statistics, accounting and/​or consumer credit
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative and computer skills​
  • Good written and verbal presentation skills; must provide clear and concise documentation to support findings or recommendations
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Candidate must possess strong attention to detail and can develop narratives and conclusions through analysis
  • Ability to evaluate multiple competing factors, use sound judgement and rationale to draw conclusions
  • Must be comfortable providing credible challenge and can tailor communication to appropriate audience
