About the RoleWe are seeking a detailoriented, organized, and servicedriven clerical professional to support the Security Department at Dayton Job Corps Center. This role is essential to ensuring smooth departmental operations, accurate documentation, and timely administrative support in alignment with government, corporate, and center directives.
This position is wellsuited for individuals with experience in:
• Clerical or administrative support
• Office management or records coordination
• Customer service and frontdesk support
• Calendar management, scheduling, and correspondence tracking
• Data entry, document control, and compliancerelated filing
Your work directly supports the effectiveness of the Security Department and contributes to a safe, structured, and positive environment for students and staff.
What You’ll DoAdministrative & Clerical Support• Handle routine departmental matters and route nonroutine items to appropriate staff.
• Cover phones, take messages, and provide courteous frontline support.
• Maintain the department’s monthly calendar, appointments, and scheduled activities.
• Manage correspondence control logs and process incoming/outgoing mail with followup on action items.
• Prepare paperwork for boards, committees, agendas, and meeting minutes.
• Perform data entry, typing, filing, and general office tasks.
• Prepare special reports, compile statistical data, and maintain organized files and records.
• Maintain appropriate stock and inventory of department supplies.
• Manage filing systems for manuals, directives, DESI procedures, and other program documents.
• Model, mentor, and support positive center culture.
• Act as a responsible custodian for assigned center property.
• Report violations of ethical behavior.
• Identify opportunities for operational improvements and waste reduction.
• Identify and report environmental health and safety concerns.
• Maintain a score of 75% or higher on the employee scorecard.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of related clerical experience.
• Ability to promote Career Success Standards (CSS) by modeling appropriate behavior and mentoring students when needed.
• Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to type 55 words per minute.
• Computer proficiency; knowledge of software and networking systems preferred.
• If driving is required, a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• I9 documentation verifying authorization to work in the United States.
• Ability to successfully pass a postoffer background check and drug test.
