At American Express the Enterprise CRM solutions team was created as part of the company’s Framework for Winning. Our teams create solutions for the B2B sales domain by harnessing the power of Data, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence to offer powerful selling and re-selling engines to acquire new clients and expand existing client relationships for 20K + Sales, and Marketers across the Enterprise.
We are looking for a director level Staff Software Engineer to lead a small team of high performing engineers /solution architects in support of our CoE. This role liaises with Delivery teams, stakeholders, and Enterprise Architects to establish standards, enforce best practice, and implement our architectural strategies for modernizing B2B sales domain.
You are energetic, accountable, proactive, and build strong and productive relationships in matrixed environments. Comfortable with ambiguity, you ask the tough questions, debate at the table, dissent where necessary, and commit where there's consensus.
Key Responsibilities:
- 25% of time spent on Hands-on technical projects; Apply analysis based on research and introspection to recommend solutions
- Design and handle solutions that provide frameworks, interfaces, and services that can be extended and reused across the portfolio
- Ensure architecture is consistent with enterprise architecture standards, guidelines and principles
- Work with engineering teams to ensure that implementations are aligned with the Technical Platform’s Blueprint specifications
- Contribute to technology direction, develop architecture and influence implementation to gain measurable business improvements
- Frequently collaborate with other functional teams' leadership and engineers to align and use solutions
- Apply specialized knowledge of industry standards or practices to assigned initiatives
- Identify complex and or broad problems and issues and formulate recommendations
- Interact with business partners to better understand their objectives and help them understand the technical landscape
- Extend business product innovation through the introduction, adoption and implementation of technology
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering and data related services.
- 8+ years hands-on experience working with Salesforce.
- Demonstrated expertise managing complex integration solutions, such as, APIs, and Data integration layers (Batch & Real-Time)
- Experience managing design, implementation and architecture governance within a large corporate environment.
- Visionary leader with recent experience transforming engineering practices and culture.
- Proven experience coaching, mentoring, and growing engineering talent.
- Preferred degree in Computer Science or Mathematics or equivalent years of experience.
Salary Range: $144,250.00 to $256,250.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
