Sanitation Supervisor

The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating sanitation staff to ensure a clean, safe, and compliant environment across non-production areas, including break rooms, offices, and restrooms. This role oversees daily cleaning operations, enforces sanitation standards, and supports a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the facility.

Key Responsibilities

· Supervise, schedule, and assign daily tasks to sanitation technicians

· Ensure all break rooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas meet company cleanliness and sanitation standards

· Conduct routine inspections and audits to maintain quality and compliance

· Train new hires and provide ongoing coaching to sanitation staff on procedures, safety, and chemical handling

· Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and coordinate reordering as needed

· Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of cleaning equipment and chemicals (SDS compliance)

· Address employee concerns, performance issues, and attendance in alignment with company policies

· Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to resolve facility-related issues

· Support deep cleaning, special projects, and preparation for audits or leadership visits

· Maintain documentation of cleaning schedules, inspections, and corrective actions

· Promote and enforce all safety policies, including PPE usage and hazard communication

Requirements:

Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or certifications in facilities, sanitation, or safety preferred

· 2–5 years of custodial/sanitation experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment

· 1+ year of supervisory or team lead experience preferred

· Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and OSHA safety standards

· Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs regularly

· Ability to perform and demonstrate cleaning tasks as needed

· Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment

Work Environment

Manufacturing facility with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures

May require flexible scheduling, including evenings or weekends
