Internship
The Science Intern position supports undergraduate or graduate students participating in unpaid internships within science-related organizations, including academic labs, government agencies, research institutions, non-profits, and private industry. This role is intended to provide practical, hands-on experience aligned with the student's academic and career goals in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) fields.
- Assist with scientific research, data collection, laboratory procedures, or fieldwork, under the supervision of a qualified mentor.
- Support project-based tasks such as literature reviews, data analysis, protocol development, or report preparation.
- Participate in team meetings, seminars, or briefings relevant to the internship placement.
- Comply with safety procedures, confidentiality requirements, and organizational policies of the host site.
- Maintain accurate records of internship activities and complete documentation required by the university or grant program.
- Communicate regularly with designated Holyoke Community College advisor.

REQUIRED:
- Enrolled as a student in a science, engineering, or related field at Holyoke Community College
- Demonstrated interest in gaining experience related to research, scientific practice, or applied STEM work.
- Ability to follow instructions, manage time effectively, and work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
