Summary
The Discovery Biotherapeutics team is dedicated to the discovery and advancement of novel biotherapeutic candidates, leveraging cutting-edge science and innovative technologies to drive the drug discovery pipeline. We seek to understand the structure and function of complex molecules such as bispecific antibodies, antibody drug conjugates, and endogenous proteins in order to optimize their utility as therapeutic agents. Our team collaborates across disciplines to advance biologic programs in Oncology, Immunology, Cardiovascular, and Neuroscience with the ultimate goal of bringing new groundbreaking therapies to patients.
The Protein Conjugation team leads the strategy and execution in generating a dynamic range of protein conjugates for our therapeutic pipeline, including oligos, small molecules, and peptides. We are looking for a collaborative, highly motivated scientist with expertise in antibody drug conjugates (ADC) technologies. The candidate should have a deep understanding and experience with antibody drug conjugation methods. The candidate is expected to have strong collaborative skills to ensure robust partnerships with biologists, antibody discovery and engineering & bioanalytical scientists to advance ADC projects.
Position Responsibilities:
- The role will involve carrying out laboratory experiments related to ADC conjugation, associated purification and analytical characterization of the conjugates
- Design, produce, and characterize antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) with a high degree of independence, on a variety of scales, and in alignment with product development guidelines and QC criteria
- Collaborate with a diverse team of biologists and chemists to answer scientific questions and drive forward new conjugation platforms
- Present own work within and outside their immediate team, with the opportunity to represent the team in cross-functional programs and initiatives
- The candidate will encourage ideas for continuous improvement activities & new technology development initiatives
- Contribute to patents, publications, and technical reports

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years of academic and / or industry experience
Or
- Master’s Degree
- 3+ years of academic and / or industry experience
Or
- Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in the Life Sciences
- No experience necessary
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in bioconjugation chemistries (lysine, inter-chain cysteine and/or site-specific cysteine and other) is required
- Experience in purification strategies using various chromatographic techniques such as affinity, size exclusion, ion-exchange, hydrophobic interaction, and tangential flow filtration (TFF)
- Demonstrated experience in analytical characterization of ADCs including SEC, RP-HPLC, LC-MS, CE-SDS, ELISA, DSC, and HIC
- Experience in analytical method development and with chromatography and MS data analysis platforms
- Experience with biological assays, including flow-based assays, and measuring cytotoxic activity for ADC characterization, would be highly desirable
- Demonstrated record of scientific accomplishments and publications
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment

The starting compensation for this job is a range from $128,420 - $155,600, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).
The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
