Physical Requirements
Moving and lifting object from floor to above shoulders up to 25 pounds. Standing and sitting at computer terminals and laboratory bench completing repetitive tasks for extensive periods of time. Continuous working with materials requiring personal protective equipment in accord with EH&S policy.
Shift
Primarily Days Monday – Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, some evenings and weekends are possible due to experimentation.
Job Summary
The researcher in this position will oversee day-to-day operations of a mass-spectrometry based core. This position requires managing multiple ongoing collaborative projects, experimental design, preparing samples, personnel training and management, and data management and analysis with the end result being publications and grant applications.
Background in mass spectrometry and regulatory and administrative management of research services is required.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Background as chemist or biologist with a focus on metabolomics and/or lipidomics is required, along with a thorough understanding and practical experience in using mass spectrometry technologies.

Preferred Education/Experience
Terminal degree (PhD) in a science-related field and multiple years of successful independent work history. A high school diploma and 15 years of paid, relevant work history equates to this req.
