Job Summary
This position is with the Special Collections Research Center located in the Margaret I. King Library Building. The student assistant will serve with Research Services:
1. Retrieve and return materials from storage areas following all tracking procedures and security protocols;
2. Handling of rare and special materials;
3. Assist with scanning orders and digitization requests by scanning and file delivery;
4. Data entry, MS Word and Excel tasks, and additional clerical duties;
and
5. Assisting SCRC staff with other tasks and special projects as assigned.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
English language proficiency, Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, reliability, punctuality, strong work ethic, strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to work independently and within a team, ability to handle fragile, rare, and special material objects with care and respect for the intrinsic value of archival materials.
