
Senior Analyst - Strategic Relationship Management
Job Description
The Global Merchant Services Global Client Group (GCG) is responsible for a portfolio of our most significant global merchant relationships. This group is unique within American Express, partnering globally to develop and implement opportunities that deepen these strategic merchant partnerships. With a highly hardworking team spanning the globe, the GCG team collaborates across American Express to drive initiatives to grow our merchant business.
Reporting to the Director, Global Client Group, the Senior Analyst in GCG will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operational needs of the client management team across strategic global retail and travel merchants such as Apple, LVMH, Expedia and Hilton. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated individual who is interested in developing a broad knowledge of the Merchant Services business, Payments industry, and retail and travel space. Additionally, this individual has the chance to gain experience working as part of a global organization as well as insight into Client Management.
Responsibilities
- Support merchant operational and servicing needs, liaising directly with merchant contacts, internal servicing teams and client managers to ensure timely resolution and strong merchant experience
- Track and monitor merchant payment activity, invoicing, and budget utilization
- Partner cross-functionally to move initiatives forward, navigating internal processes to drive execution and deliver results
- Support merchant pricing and hierarchy reviews through data management, clear organization, tracking, and knowledge of merchant portfolios
- Pull, organize, and interpret data to support business decisions and the development of executive-level presentations
- Research and identify industry trends, risks and opportunities across the travel and retail industries
- Leverage modern tools, including AI-enabled solutions, to enhance reporting, streamline processes, and improve decision-making
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of similar work experience
- Marketing and budget management experience
- Proven experience working with external partners/clients
- Strong project management skills with attention to detail, seamless follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient analytical skills with the ability to extract, validate, and interpret data to support performance reporting, hierarchy management, and business decision-making
- Demonstrated collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholders
- Advanced PowerPoint & Excel skills; Adept leveraging AI-enabled tools to enhance analysis and productivity with ability to learn business systems, including reporting and CRM tools
- Strong intellectual curiosity - eager to learn and work through ambiguous environments
- Team player with a can-do attitude that enjoys working in a fun, smart, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.
- BA Degree Preferred
- Candidate must reside in the Greater NYC Metro area

The below represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
Salary range
- $78,000 - $124,750 per year
