The Role

The Senior Associate, Retirement & Institutional Custody Product Management is a key member of the product team and will support the development and management of a holistic suite of retirement & institutional custody services intended for intermediary Fidelity clients such as RIAs, BDs, independent record keepers, banks, trust companies & family office firms. The associate will interface directly with clients, vendors and internal stakeholders in sales, relationship management, operations and service to oversee the daily requirements of product management as well as coordinate on net new initiatives. This role will help drive the next iteration of products and services we offer these firms in addition to ensuring the current products and platforms operate to product and client specifications.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

This role will support product management and development across the suite of individual & self-directed brokerage retirement products as well as institutional custody services that focus on recordkeepers. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of retirement products, the third party administrator model, wealth management services, operations, trust accounting, regulatory and compliance reporting.

  • Bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent).

  • 5+ years of experience with RIAs, Broker Dealers, independent record keepers, third party administrators, bank and trust company firms as brokerage clients

  • Experience with Defined Contribution and Defined Benefits retirement plans and the many operational nuances they bring to the plan, the record keeper and the advisor.

  • Trust Accounting experience is a Plus

  • Working knowledge and work experience with individual retirement accounts and self-directed brokerage accounts

  • Experience with brokerage technology and a basic understanding of vendor integrations, third party record keeping and trust accounting software and the complex nature of third-party integrations is required.

  • Experience with principal and income accounting, beneficiary disbursements, trustee and investment management fee calculations, administrative and investment reviews, bank regulatory reporting (RC-T, 13G, 13F), income tax returns for trusts.

  • Ability to collaborate with a variety of technology teams to establish clear client-ready outcomes that enable platform adoption.

  • Ability to collaborate with vendors to ensure client demands are met and projects are coordinated across all parties.

  • Entrepreneurial drive—must be a self-starter and a critical problem solver with attention to detail coupled with the ability to work in a fast-paced and innovative work environment.

  • You are curious, driven, collaborative in nature and an excellent teammate.

  • Must have your FINRA Series 99 and 7, or willingness to acquire within a prescribed period.

  • A history of defining priorities based on business needs and critical metrics and providing clear readouts to senior management on progress.

This dynamic group is part of the Institutional Wealth Management Services Business Unit serving a variety of Institutional clients. The team works cross-functionally with clients and internal stakeholders spanning Technology, Client Experience, Relationship Management, Sales and Operations to vet client workflows and needs and to build and prioritize product requirements, development and deployment in a way that ensures an optimal client experience .
