Senior Business Analyst, TEM Product
Job Description:
Please Note: We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
The Mission:
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be a high-impact driver within the TEM Product Area. We are looking for a systems thinker, someone who can enter a complex landscape, master its intricacies at high speed, and provide the structured leadership needed to manage a product backlog. You aren't expected to be a subject matter expert on day one; you are expected to be the person who becomes the expert through relentless curiosity and analytical rigor.
Expertise You Have (Core Capabilities)
- Natural Curiosity & Learning Agility: A proven record of entering unfamiliar technical or business domains and quickly mastering them. You ask "why" to uncover root causes rather than just accepting surface-level information.
- Structured Problem Solving: Outstanding critical thinking abilities with the skill to dismantle complex, ambiguous situations into smaller, logical, and manageable components.
- Agile Orchestration: Proficiency in managing iterative product releases using Agile methodologies (Jira/backlog management). You prioritize based on value, not just volume.
- Requirements Synthesis: Expert-level ability to identify and document business requirements, current and future states, and workflow designs. You translate "messy" stakeholder needs into precise user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Sound Decision Making: The ability to make firm, logical decisions quickly in a complex work environment, even when information is incomplete.
Skills You Bring (Behavioral DNA)
- Empathy & Diplomacy: Highly effective at navigating "enterprise landscapes." You possess the negotiation and conflict resolution skills to partner with different levels of employees—from developers to executives.
- Active Listening & Facilitation: You don't just hear; you process. You can lead technical discussions, help make technical trade-offs, and set criteria for a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) by synthesizing diverse viewpoints.
- Resilience & Adaptability: You thrive in the "pivot." You manage multiple, changing priorities and iterative releases without losing focus on the successful customer experience.
- End-to-End Systems Thinking: The ability to map processes that span a complex landscape (people, process, systems, data) to identify dependencies and risks.
- Innovative Risk-Taking: A consultant-oriented mindset that favors thoughtful risk-taking to get work done better and faster.
Value You Deliver
- Trusted Advisor Status: Act as a strategic consultant to internal clients, providing clarity on critical initiatives regardless of the specific product area.
- Barrier Removal: Proactively identify and resolve obstacles that inhibit short- and long-term goals, conveying a sense of urgency and responsiveness.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Navigate multiple business units to represent client needs, actively managing expectations and maintaining strong communication through every milestone.
- Organizational Readiness: Lead the transition from "idea" to "execution" by addressing obstacles related to product delivery and conveying business value to QA and Development, and business leadership
- Backlog Leadership: Work with the Team Leader to provide product leadership, ensuring the backlog is prioritized for maximum impact and quality assurance.
The Team
- Our Mission: We serve those who serve others. The Tax Exempt Market (TEM) business unit provides specialized retirement plan services to benefit leaders and employees at mission-based, not-for-profit organizations, including major healthcare systems, colleges, and universities.
- Strategic Partnership: In this role, you will work in lockstep with TEM Product Leadership, Commercialization, and Engineering to design and deliver features that directly improve the financial well-being of our participants.
