The Role

The Cloud Network team within the Fidelity Architecture and Engineering (FAE) organization are seeking to hire a Senior Cloud Developer with a strong foundation in networking technologies, software-defined networking, infrastructure as code (IaC), and modern software development practices using CI/CD pipelines.

Location: Primary location is Westlake, TX. Merrimack, NH may be considered.

As a Senior Cloud Developer in the Cloud Network team, you will be:

• Collaborating across FAE tribes and business units to refine requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
• Designing and implementing network and security technologies in public cloud environments.
• Developing APIs to enable self-service capabilities at the network and security layers.
• Building CI environments to validate changes and ensure policy compliance.
• Embracing an infrastructure-as-code approach—no manual terminal or console access.
• Supporting and maintaining everything built by the squad, including on-call responsibilities.
• Mentoring and guiding technologists across business units deploying to the public cloud.
• Troubleshooting issues within CSPs and ensuring seamless connectivity with Fidelity’s network.

The Expertise And Skills You Bring

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Python as your primary development language.
• Advanced Python development skills beyond basic scripting required.
• 4+ years of experience building software solutions in large enterprise environments, with a focus on object-oriented programming and software architecture.
• AWS and/or Azure certifications are preferred but not required.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technology-related field.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design principles.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth in areas such as:
  • Cloud APIs (AWS, Azure) for resource provisioning.
  • Infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation.
  • Virtual networking and security constructs in AWS and Azure.
  • CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Networking fundamentals: IP routing, firewalls, load balancers, web proxies, and DNS.
• Ability to produce clear, concise documentation for designs, operations, and user guides.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to seek clarity in ambiguous situations.
• Problem-solving mindset and willingness to dive deep into technical challenges.

The Team

We are a small, agile Cloud Network DevOps team within the Fidelity Architecture and Engineering (FAE) organization at Fidelity Investments. We design, secure, automate, provision, and operate virtual network constructs across AWS and Azure.
