ABOUT THE ROLE:

Lexitas is seeking a strategic, results-driven Senior Director of Business Developmentto lead and scale our Business Development and Regional Account Executive teams. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, improving client retention, and executing sales strategies aligned with organizational goals. In this role, you’ll partner closely with senior sales leadership to shape annual sales strategy, oversee team performance, and maintain your own portfolio of key clients and prospects. You’ll bring structure, accountability, and innovation to the sales process—while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and service excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with senior sales leadership to develop and execute annual sales plans aligned with company strategy and growth objectives.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Business Development Account Executives (BDAEs) and Regional Account Executives to maximize performance, engagement, and professional growth.
  • Design, implement, and continuously refine the Business Development program, including goals, strategies, and KPIs.
  • Direct execution of sales policies, lead distribution models, and multi-channel selling strategies.
  • Regularly evaluate individual and team performance; set expectations, review results, and implement coaching or corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain and grow an assigned book of clients and prospects, driving retention, upsell, and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, operations, and senior leadership to improve client satisfaction and revenue outcomes.
  • Track and analyze performance metrics including revenue, retention, client satisfaction, and pipeline health; take action based on data insights.
  • Partner with marketing to develop and deploy effective sales collateral, campaigns, and training materials.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to ensure teams are equipped to deliver exceptional service and drive growth.
  • Lead strategies to improve client retention, including annual Standing Order reviews and proactive account planning.
  • Identify market opportunities through research and competitive analysis, with emphasis on strategic growth markets.
  • Represent Lexitas at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
  • Collaborate with HR on hiring, onboarding, and training new Business Development and Regional Sales team members.
  • Manage the Business Development and Regional Sales budget to ensure effective allocation of resources.
  • Champion operational excellence, process improvement, and innovation across the team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sales, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of successful sales management experience, including both field-based and inside/virtual sales leadership.
  • Demonstrated success in client success, account management, or business development with measurable revenue growth.
  • Experience in legal services or legal support preferred.
  • Proven experience designing, building, and managing end-to-end sales or operational processes.
  • Experience working in a multi-function, multi-geography environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and related business tools.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position oversees Business Development Account Executives and Account Executives within the assigned team/region. The role is accountable for team productivity and financial results, including retention, growth, new sales performance, and achievement of regional/business unit objectives.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers whose first language is English.
