Position Summary:
The Senior Director, Data Analytic Services will play a pivotal leadership role in driving the strategic direction, management, and optimization of data science environments. As the Senior Director, Data Analytic Services, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the future of data-driven decision-making within the organization. This position is accountable for overseeing the strategy and operations across key platforms, including data visualization, data preparation, and machine learning operations (ML Ops), ensuring seamless integration and alignment with organizational objectives. Additionally, this role with act as the primary partner to the functionally aligned (Research & Development, Global Product Development & Supply, Global Business Operations, and Commercialization) analytics teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science with demonstrated solution architecture and implementation experience across various data science platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance data analytic/data science services across the organization, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and innovation.
- Build, lead and manage a globally dispersed high-performing team, fostering innovation, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure successful delivery of services and capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including teams across data science, data engineering, and business functions to understand their goals, objectives, and requirements to translate them into effective data analytic/data science solutions/capabilities.
- Oversee the implementation, optimization, and continuous evolution of data analytic/data science environments, ensuring state-of-the-art tools and technologies are leveraged.
- Lead the management and optimization of platforms for data visualization, data preparation, and ML/Ops, ensuring they meet the needs of diverse stakeholders.
- Establish best practices, workflows, and processes for data analytic operations to ensure consistency, security, and reliability.
- Assess and manage relationships with external vendors and evaluate tools to ensure optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure that solutions are scalable, reliable, and maintainable while adhering to applicable policies and procedures.
- Define and monitor KPIs related to data analytic/data science services, providing regular updates to executive leadership.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
- 15+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, and/or an information technology related field delivering and supporting data solutions/capabilities with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing a complex data environment.
- Exceptional knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), data preparation platforms, and ML/Ops frameworks/capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage globally dispersed teams, driving collaboration and achieving results.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into robust solutions.
- Strong leadership qualities, including the ability to influence and drive change in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated success in designing, delivering, and supporting integrated solutions using disparate technologies.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ideal Candidates Would Also Have:
- Experience working internationally with a globally dispersed team including management of offshore technical development team(s).
- Prior experience working in a global life sciences data analytic/data science environment.
The starting compensation for this job is a range from $230,000 - $255,000, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).
The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed.
Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
