Pay Range
$86,500.00-$118,900.00 AnnualThis is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Environmental Specialist to lead environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives across our operations. This role applies principles of engineering, biology, chemistry, and environmental science to develop innovative solutions that protect and enhance the environment. The successful candidate will ensure full compliance with Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations, as well as Johns Manville’s internal standards, through the implementation and continuous improvement of environmental programs.
Your Day to Day:
- Ensure environmental compliance across the facility through audits, inspections, and accurate documentation.
- Identify, design, and implement strategies for air, water, and waste management, including pollution prevention and source reduction.
- Prepare, review, and maintain environmental permits, reports, and regulatory submissions.
- Develop and update environmental management systems, plans, and procedures.
- Lead investigations into environmental incidents and recommend corrective actions to ensure compliance and data integrity.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate environmental considerations into new and existing projects.
- Serve as a technical expert and resource for environmental regulations and best practices.
- Train and mentor team members on environmental programs, procedures, and equipment.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field OR equivalent experience with at least 5 years in environmental compliance within a manufacturing setting.
- Strong working knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance standards (e.g., EPA, Title V).
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Experience managing environmental projects and performing fieldwork.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in a Senior Environmental Specialist role or similar.
- Experience with all regulated environmental media (air, water, waste).
- Familiarity with permitting processes and regulatory agencies.
- Experience with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
