Senior Human Resources Administrator

Job Purpose

This position is responsible for managing complex and sensitive Human Resources matters with a high degree of autonomy, while providing subject matter expertise, escalation support, and process leadership for Human Resources administrative operations across affiliated companies. The role drives process development and continuous improvement, serves as a resource to Human Resources Administrators, and works under the direction of Human Resources leadership in support of organizational objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties and other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Human Resources Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of Human Resources administrative operations, including onboarding, offboarding, personnel transactions, and recordkeeping, through audits and quality checks
  • Manage complex benefits and leave matters requiring coordination with internal stakeholders and benefit vendors
  • Oversee Human Resources compliance and reporting, identify gaps, and drive timely resolution
  • Resolve escalated employee and manager inquiries requiring interpretation of policy or precedent
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for affiliated company Human Resources inquiries, escalating matters to Human Resources leadership with appropriate context and supporting documentation
  • Manage external partnerships to ensure service delivery aligns with Human Resources objectives

Process Improvement

  • Partner with Human Resources leadership to develop and refine Human Resources templates, forms, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and policy implementation
  • Identify process gaps and recommend and implement improvements to Human Resources administrative infrastructure

Training & Development

  • Lead training and development program coordination and compliance tracking across affiliated companies
  • Serve as an escalation point and resource for Human Resources Administrators, providing guidance on accuracy, completeness, and adherence to department standards
  • Guide Human Resources Administrators on processes and best practices
  • Serve as a resource to hiring managers across the operating companies on talent acquisition, and contribute to hiring and onboarding activities as needed, in partnership with the Human Resources team
  • Support the team during high-volume periods and as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and organizational data
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive Human Resources administrative experience required; 6 or more years preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and California employment law
  • Advanced proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated ability to train and guide Human Resources administrative staff
  • High degree of discretion, judgment, and professionalism in handling highly sensitive and confidential matters
  • Experience with benefits and leave administration

Desired Skills and Knowledge

  • Multi-site or multi-entity Human Resources experience
  • Experience with document management systems and learning management systems (LMS)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including drafting Human Resources communications and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
