Job Description

The objective of the GCS Control Management Governance team is to establish the Operational Risk and Controls strategy for GCS, set up a foundational governance structure that ensures operational risks are identified, assessed, and managed in compliance with enterprise Operational Risk Management programs and reporting.

GCS is looking for a Senior Manager of Governance focused on ensuring control management is embedded in the day-to-day operations of our organization. It will involve extensive collaboration with multiple partners across numerous business units, functional areas, and geographies.

Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Risk & ERIA Execution:
    Support the execution of Enterprise Risk Identification and Assessment (ERIA) activities across GCS, helping ensure risks are identified, assessed, and managed in alignment with the enterprise risk governance framework.

  • Risk Appetite, Metrics & Reporting:
    Contribute to the development and monitoring of GCS Risk Appetite Framework metrics (KRIs/KPIs); assist in aggregating and analyzing risk data, identifying trends, and preparing reporting and insights for stakeholders.

  • Governance & Framework Adherence:
    Support the consistent application of the enterprise risk governance framework, including adherence to policies, standards, and ERIA methodologies across business units.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Partner with Control Management, business units, and second line teams to support integration of ERIA outputs into broader operational risk processes and governance practices.

  • Data & AI Enablement:
    Support the exploration and adoption of data and AI-driven capabilities to enhance risk identification, monitoring, and reporting processes, improving efficiency and insights within the function.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in Operational Risk, Enterprise Risk, Internal Audit, Compliance, or a related field
  • Foundational understanding of risk management concepts, including risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends or risk insights
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and present information clearly
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with data and emerging AI capabilities, with an interest in applying these tools to enhance risk identification, monitoring, and reporting processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Risk Management, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • Exposure to Enterprise Risk Identification and Assessment (ERIA), Risk Appetite Frameworks, or Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)
  • Experience in financial services or a highly regulated industry
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI) or risk management systems (e.g., Archer)
  • Exposure to automation or AI-driven initiatives within risk, governance, or analytics functions
