How will you make an impact in this role?
American Express is driving a digital transformation for our Global Commercial Services clients. The @ Work Digital Program Management office (PMO) is a newly established function within the GCS and Enterprise Solutions team, focused on enabling clarity, execution, and leadership visibility across a large portfolio of cross-functional initiatives. This role will support the PMO’s mission by helping stand up tools, processes, and reporting that create consistency and transparency across product and technology teams.
Core Responsibilities:
- Responsible for coordinating the overall @ Work roadmap inclusive of strategic initiatives and other BAU work – including strategic impacts, compliance and contractual obligations. Partner closely with Technology partners on engineering capacity, feature readiness, roadmap planning and roadblocks
- Operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent exposure to senior leadership through cross-functional collaboration and preparation of high-visibility presentations and reports
- Contribute to the creation of a journey-level inventory of PMO processes, tools, and owners. Help implement core PMO functions, including:
- Cross-Functional Coordination with Product and Tech
- Initiative tracking across journeys (status, phase, risk and ROI)
- Coordination of cross-journey PI Planning forums (every 10 weeks)
- Monitoring scrum teams’ scope and velocity with Tech/Product
- Supporting annual and ongoing investment planning by tracking spend and allocations
- Supporting communication cadences and reporting launch calendars with Product and Technology
- Partner with internal teams to establish and maintain shared workspaces (e.g. Confluence, Rally and Confluence)
- Owning, preparing and maintaining centralized reporting for different leadership levels including, monthly portfolio summaries, Monthly KPI & risk reports, Weekly tech/product alignment forums, Biweekly execution and budget review sessions
- Contribute to the development of RACI models for team alignment and handoffs
- Document current artifacts, cadences, and tools such as Clarity, Jira, Airtable, Rally, Excel, Confluence, leadership reports, and burn charts
- Support discovery work across key stakeholders including but not limited to Tech, Product teams, Investment Planning Office, Marketing, Servicing and Sales
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in program/project management, strategy, or business operations
- Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail
- Strong familiarity with product development lifecycle and technology reporting
- Experience working in Agile or scaled Agile (SAFe) environments
- Familiarity with reporting and project tracking tools (e.g., Rally, JIRA, Confluence and Tableau)
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work across diverse stakeholder groups
- Ability to synthesize information and drive toward clarity and structure in ambiguous settings
- Experience with executive reporting or portfolio-level program updates
- Familiarity with PI planning and scrum team operations
- Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, with ability to influence at all levels
- Excellent relationship building skills and a collaborative mindset, building bridges, and eliminating silos
- Growth mindset, curiosity, and passion for learning, with ability to instill this mindset within your team
- Drives innovation and change by challenging the status quo and risk-taking with informed judgment
- Excellent relationship builder who can work across a large, matrixed organization to build strong and effective internal business relationships
- Results-driven contributor who can work collaboratively with partners to attain results
- Bachelor's degree

- Master's/MBA degree
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
