Job Description

At American Express, we are committed to delivering the world's best customer experience through innovative products, data-driven decision making, and modern digital experiences. The Product Experience Frameworks (PXF) organization enables teams across the enterprise to build, measure, and optimize customer experiences at scale through a suite of shared platforms and frameworks.

As a Senior Product Manager, Experimentation Platforms & Data Insights, you will define and drive the strategy, roadmap, and execution for the experimentation ecosystem that powers digital product development across American Express. You will help shape how product, engineering, analytics, and business teams validate ideas, measure impact, and make decisions through experimentation.

This role sits at the intersection of product management, data, and platform strategy. You will lead the evolution of our experimentation capabilities, working across both internally developed solutions and industry-leading third-party platforms to deliver scalable, intuitive, and statistically rigorous experiences for our users. Beyond experimentation, you will help define the future vision for broader insights and decision-support capabilities, enabling teams to move seamlessly from experimentation to measurement, analytics, and actionable business intelligence.

The ideal candidate is passionate about platform products, data-informed decision making, and driving organizational change through exceptional user experiences and scalable technology solutions.

Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Vision

  • Define and execute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for American Express's experimentation platform & data insights hub capabilities.

  • Identify opportunities to expand platform capabilities beyond experimentation into broader measurement, analytics, and data workflows.

  • Develop long-term platform strategies that improve experimentation maturity, product velocity, and decision quality across the organization.

  • Evaluate industry trends, emerging technologies, and market-leading solutions to continuously evolve platform capabilities and user experiences.

Product Development & Execution

  • Lead end-to-end product development from discovery through delivery, partnering closely with engineering, design, analytics, and platform teams.

  • Prioritize features, capabilities, and technical investments based on customer needs, business impact, and platform scalability.

  • Drive the evolution of experimentation tooling, including experiment creation, management, targeting, reporting, governance, and user experience.

  • Translate complex technical and statistical concepts into intuitive product experiences that enable broad adoption across diverse user personas.

  • Define success metrics and outcomes for platform investments and measure impact over time.

Platform Adoption & Enablement

  • Champion a strong culture of experimentation and evidence-based decision making across American Express.

  • Drive adoption of platform capabilities through user research, education, change management, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Partner with Centers of Excellence and enablement teams to establish best practices, standards, and governance frameworks.

  • Gather and synthesize feedback from product, engineering, analytics, and business users to continuously improve platform effectiveness.

  • Influence behavioral change across teams by building intuitive workflows, scalable processes, and compelling user experiences.

Data & Insights

  • Develop a deep understanding of American Express's data ecosystem and analytics platforms.

  • Partner with data platform teams to identify opportunities for tighter integration between experimentation, analytics, and insights capabilities.

  • Help shape the future vision for self-service insights and decision-support experiences across the enterprise.

  • Use quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate platform performance, measure outcomes, and inform product decisions.

  • Establish reporting frameworks that demonstrate business impact and platform value.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience, preferably with experience owning platform, infrastructure, developer, analytics, data, or enterprise products.

  • Proven track record defining product vision and delivering complex technical products in partnership with engineering and data teams.

  • Experience developing product strategy and roadmaps while balancing near-term delivery with long-term platform investments.

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data, user insights, and business outcomes to inform product decisions.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and align stakeholders across product, engineering, analytics, and business organizations.

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and executive audiences.

  • Experience operating effectively in ambiguous environments and independently driving initiatives from concept to launch.

  • Experience leading platform adoption, organizational change, or large-scale product transformations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with experimentation platforms, A/B testing, feature management, or product measurement systems.

  • Familiarity with experimentation methodologies, statistical concepts, causal inference, and experimentation best practices.

  • Experience building or scaling B2B or internal platforms used by multiple teams.

  • Experience managing platform migrations, integrations, or large-scale technology transformations.

  • Knowledge of modern data platforms, analytics ecosystems, reporting solutions, business intelligence tools, or self-service insights products.

  • Ability to work effectively with data science, analytics, and engineering partners to define success metrics and evaluate outcomes.

  • Familiarity with SQL, data exploration tools, or analytics workflows.
