How will you make an impact in this role?
The Enterprise Data Strategy team, in Credit and Fraud Risk Management (CFR) is responsible for optimizing risk decisions through the lifecycle by identifying, testing and integrating internal data with external data assets. The team also manages data, strategy, and relationships with key third party data providers and contribution policy with external data partners (including credit bureaus) to support risk products in new accounts, customer management, and collection practices. The team also serves as a critical channel for the exploration of new data opportunities for the firm.
The Senior Manager/Manager will be part of the Open Finance and Banking Data Strategy team. This team is dedicated to optimizing the value of existing data and to defining the roadmap for new banking and open finance data that will help uplift credit underwriting and line management, fraud and credit bust-out verifications. The Senior Manager/Manager will also play a key role supporting the strategy, impact, and opportunities of the new US 1033 Open Banking regulation to CFR inbound use-cases in collaboration with other enterprise teams. The remit of the role primarily spans across the commercial and consumer landscape in US but can support open finance and banking thought leadership in non-US markets. The candidate will lead collaboration with our strategic partners, help deepen in-house expertise on banking data assets, support new behavioral data product development in partnership with decision science teams, and enhance our data capabilities to accelerate growth and controls.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and support Open Finance and Banking data strategy across the customer lifecycle through structured and risk-based principles.
- Analyze existing and new banking data sources to uncover opportunities that will optimize our data solutions & purchases and address business needs
- Own third party relationships and manage all aspects of relationship including data quality and relationship monitoring, product performance, data testing/use cases and contract negotiations
- Develop innovative and impactful data driven insights and analytics through our strategic partnerships to drive business growth and credit & fraud risk management excellence
- Develop metrics to deliver strong controls and insights
- Closely partner with colleagues across CFR Data Strategy, Product Owners, Compliance, CFR Fraud, Banking & Payments Strategy and Decisions Science to successfully design, implement, monitor, and govern strategies related to external banking data
- Collaborate with external strategic partners to influence data product development
- Be able to handle urgent escalations and time sensitive risk events.
- Influence, lead and communicate across a broad range of audiences, including internal and external senior leadership
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and across a matrixed organization to deliver solutions at top speed
- Ability to manage and lead large scale projects with multiple cross functional partners
- Results driven mindset with a proven track record to prioritize and deliver against multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Good communication and influencing skills with an ability to translate data and analytics into business insights and recommendations, conceptualize and sell ideas
- Strong technical skills to perform data evaluation, analytics, and matrices tracking/reporting
- Knowledge of Python, SQL, Spark, SAS, and familiar with big data and cloud environments
- At least 5 years of experience in a financial services organization in data or strategy function
- Knowledge of Banking, Open Finance or Credit data ecosystem preferred
- Bachelor or Master's Degree required, concentration in a quantitative field or business management preferred
- Experience in managing people preferred
- Adaptable interpersonal skills, high energy, and a proven team-first mentality
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
