Senior Oracle DBA
The Role
The Application DBA position requires a highly competent and highly motivated Senior Database Administrator with strong technical skills to support challenging mission critical database platforms. This position would provide an excellent opportunity to work on leading database technologies like Oracle, Cockroach, SQL Server etc. It is a great place to experience & learn end to end DBA service capabilities!

Key Responsibilities
- 24X7 on call rotation for production support
- Incident triage and mitigation/resolution of complex data platforms
- Troubleshoot and resolve data replication issues (Oracle Goldengate)
- Manage security/patching/TLM compliance of database assets
- Manage data Security controls collaborating with Audit & Risk teams
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years Oracle DBA experience, including 2+ years with cloud databases
- 2+ years Goldengate Replication experience
- Experience with Cockroach DB and SQL Server is a plus
- Experience in financial services domain is a plus
- Ability to perform applications database administration (Oracle) services including SQL code review, performance analysis, query tuning, database application design, physical data modeling, development support & Engineering
- Experience in setting up, installing, and managing multisite databases using Oracle Goldengate replication
- Experience with AWS cloud databases (RDS Oracle, Oracle on EC2, CockroachDB on AWS EC2 ) platforms on Linux environments
- Ability to quickly diagnose the problem areas and come up with solutions and/or workarounds
- Provide database support in all phases of SDLC and agile experience is preferred
- Participate in 24X7 on call rotation schedule for various production support, database maintenance, housekeeping and installs
- Work with enterprise teams for Systems Administrators, Cyber Security and Capacity Planning groups as and when situation demands
- Strong leadership skills with willingness and ability to prioritize multiple projects/initiatives at the same time
- Self-motivated with strong team, interpersonal and communication skills
- Establish database standards for operations, upgrades, migrations and onboarding new applications and/or clients
- Advanced skills in SQL Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid control, Linux shell scripting, and writing database monitoring jobs in PL/SQL
- Ability to work well in a team environment, as well as maintaining a flexible attitude are a must
- Ability to develop and drive database administration strategies and initiatives as per the needs of the team and adaptability
The Team
Fidelity Enterprise Technology Business Database Services Application DBA team provides Database environments supporting critical brokerage business.
The FBT distributed DBA team provides application DBA support for all the distributed databases on which these applications run like Oracle, SQL Server, Cockroach DB, Goldengate Replication.
