The Role

Under minimal supervision, the Senior Pension Administrator will be responsible for accurate and timely processing of moderate to high complexity calculations and/or transactions in a multi-client environment. They learn to execute employee information and financial transactions on several Fidelity systems within each client’s respective database. The Senior Pension Administrator interacts with many different groups within Fidelity and is a key contributor to the team environment and overall effective services provided to Fidelity’s client base.
This role will use Defined Benefit specific and client specific procedures when researching and processing calculations to ensure accuracy and timeliness of all work.

The Expertise You Have
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Mathematics, Finance or Business preferred) or equivalent work experience
  • Defined Benefit knowledge and experience is a plus, but not required. Associates will be given training on DB and calculations which will be required to be successful in the role.

The Value You Deliver
  • Play an integral role servicing existing and new clients in defined benefit retirement plan administration, including a full range of administrative and operational support services to a variety of defined benefit clients and plan participants in a fast paced and time critical environment
  • Process various types of calculations and disbursement set ups, meeting timeliness and accuracy standards
  • Review and triage all participant requests to determine correct resolution and routing. Manage and monitor workflows
  • Interpret plan rules to ensure correct calculations and disbursements. Build calculation tools.
  • Analyze and process transactions to ensure proper quality standards for calculations, disbursements and data updates
  • Contact participants to explain calculations or resolve participant/client related issues. This could be by phone or letters and forms
  • Support external client and internal audit requests by providing requested documentation, conducting research and answering questions as a client and plan expert
  • Manually calculate and review pension benefits for plan participants
  • Support the monthly testing of various systems upgrades and releases
  • Participate in special departmental projects
