As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll lead complex, enterprise‑wide initiatives that help shape the future of Whataburger. You’ll turn strategy into action by guiding cross‑functional teams, navigating ambiguity, and delivering results that matter to our business, our restaurants, and our people.

Day-to-Day Ingredients — Responsibilities
As a Senior Project Manager, you will:
- Lead multiple, complex projects from planning through delivery, aligned to enterprise priorities
- Develop and manage scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and dependencies
- Direct cross‑functional teams, setting clear accountability and driving execution
- Proactively identify, mitigate, and resolve risks, issues, and roadblocks
- Apply and enforce project and change management methodologies and governance
- Monitor, analyze, and communicate project performance to stakeholders and leaders
- Ensure quality, completeness, and consistency of project deliverables and documentation
- Coach and mentor project managers and teams to strengthen project execution

What You Bring to the Table — Required Experience
As a Senior Project Manager, you must have:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 8+ years of progressive project management experience
- Proven success leading large, cross‑functional, multi‑workstream initiatives
- Advanced knowledge of project and change management methodologies
- Strong ability to manage competing priorities in fast‑paced environments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive audiences
- Experience translating business strategy into actionable, measurable plans
- Strong problem‑solving skills and comfort navigating ambiguity
- Proficiency with project planning, tracking, and reporting tools
Extra Toppings — Desired Experience (Optional)
As a Senior Project Manager, we prefer you to have:
- Experience supporting enterprise transformation or large‑scale initiatives
- Experience coaching or mentoring project managers
- Strong financial acumen related to budgeting, forecasting, and ROI
- Experience influencing without direct authority across diverse teams
- Background working in retail, restaurant, or consumer‑focused environments
Where & How You’ll Work
This role is based at the San Antonio Home Office, working on‑site Monday through Thursday with remote flexibility on Fridays. In this role, you’ll have strong collaboration with leadership, across cross-functional teams, and with external partners to align capabilities with restaurant realities. The work environment is fast‑paced and requires sound judgment, strategic thinking, and strong collaboration skills. Full‑time availability is required, with occasional extended hours based on business needs, along with occasional travel to properties, project sites, and external meetings. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of the San Antonio Home Office.
