Habitat for Humanity International is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Project Management Lead to oversee and grow our project portfolio across the Central and Eastern Europe / Commonwealth of Independent States (CEE/CIS) region. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving high‑impact, multi‑country projects that advance Habitat’s mission in energy resilience, affordable housing, and housing for vulnerable groups.

Reporting to the Director, CEE & CIS, you will lead the regional Project Management Unit and ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards.

This position is based in Bratislava, Slovakia.

The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including internal equity and the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience. We offer a competitive, comprehensive benefits package. The monthly gross pay starts at 3950 EUR / month (based on previous experience + benefits).
What would be your responsibilities?

Lead the Regional Project Portfolio
• Oversee all complex, multi year, multi country donor funded projects.
• Ensure alignment with Habitat’s mission and regional strategic priorities.
• Monitor progress, budgets, risks, and quality across the entire portfolio.
• Provide regular updates and reports to leadership and key stakeholders.

Build and Lead the Project Management Team
• Manage and mentor a team of project managers and support staff.
• Recruit, train, and develop team members.
• Set clear expectations and foster a collaborative, high performing environment.
• Assign roles and responsibilities across Area Office and National Organizations.

Engage Key Stakeholders
• Maintain strong relationships with donors, partners, and government entities.
• Represent HFHI at regional meetings, conferences, and sector events.
• Collaborate with Resource Development (RD) and Global Foundations, Organizations and Institutions (GFOI) teams to identify new funding opportunities.
• Supervise external project staff and sub grantees

Drive High Quality Project Planning & Execution
• Oversee the development of project proposals, plans, and deliverables.
• Coordinate with technical experts on research, training materials, methodologies, and evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with donor requirements, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
• Oversee audits, evaluations, and learning processes to strengthen future programming.
What do we require?

• Master’s degree in relevant field
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience with EU‑funded, complex, multi‑year, and multi‑partner projects.
• Experience in the non‑profit, development sector or public administration is preferred (e.g., NGOs, municipalities, state institutions,).
• Minimum 2 years of people management experience
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of local languages is a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
• Solid knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
• Proven ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and perform well under pressure.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a proactive, solution‑focused approach.
• Familiarity with bilateral and multilateral funding mechanisms and compliance requirements is an advantage.
