Position Overview & Essential Functions
Responsible for providing legendary service to our stores and communities through timely & accurate tax payment and reporting. The Senior Tax Accountant will compile and analyze sales, use, and property tax data from across the organization and coordinate with our service providers to ensure compliance with all indirect tax reporting. The Senior Tax Accountant will assist with audits, monitor new state/local transaction taxes and changing tax rates, and maintain effective communication with tax authorities and our Managing Partners.
Responsibilities
- Compile & review source data for monthly sales/use tax returns to ensure accuracy of information provided to our service providers.
- Review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and assist in forecasting real & personal property tax expense.
- Coordinate with I.T. partners to ensure monthly sales tax rate updates are reflected in point-of-sale system; obtain/renew sales tax permits.
- Assist with responses to tax notices, audits, and real estate tax appeals.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both internal and external partners.
- Apply innovative thinking to optimize internal processes and leverage our existing automation tools.
- Support special projects to respond to changes in business environment, technology standards, and internal processes.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required. Consideration will be given to four-year degree in another area of study with accounting certificate.
- Minimum three years accounting experience in a public accounting firm or large corporate environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft suite. Experience with Microsoft D365, OneSource, Vertex, Business Intelligence, Basware, Alteryx/Savant/Power Automate/SQL is a plus.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced team environment
