As a Shipping & Receiving Security Agent, you will play an important role in ensuring the security and smooth operation of our loading dock and back-of-house areas. In this role, you’ll monitor and control access to shipping and receiving areas, verify documentation for incoming and outgoing shipments, and inspect deliveries to ensure they meet safety and security standards. You’ll maintain accurate records, support inventory handling, and help prevent loss, theft, or tampering, all while upholding company policies to create a safe and well-organized environment for employees, vendors, and partners.
SCHEDULE: This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with regular day shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Occasional weekend shifts may be required based on business needs.
DAY-TO-DAY:
- Monitor and control access to the Loading Dock, Shipping & Receiving cage, and other designated areas to ensure only authorized personnel and vehicles enter.
- Verify documentation for all incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
- Inspect packages, containers, and vehicles to confirm adherence to security and safety protocols, identifying and reporting any irregularities.
- Maintain detailed logs such as but not limited to Envoy, Genetec, etc., of shipments, deliveries, access activity, and security incidents.
- Collaborate with shipping, receiving, and warehouse teams to support smooth and secure inventory handling.
- Conduct random audits of shipments to detect and prevent loss, theft, or tampering, escalating findings appropriately.
- Enforce organizational policies and procedures related to safety, security, and operational protocols.
- Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, or emergencies, taking appropriate action and escalating issues to leadership or law enforcement as needed.
- Operate CCTV, access control, and other security systems to monitor activity, document incidents, and support investigations.
WE’D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU:
- Have experience in security, law enforcement, shipping and receiving, customer service, or a related field.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, and stay calm under pressure, including during emergencies or high-stress situations.
- Are observant and detail-oriented, with the ability to spot irregularities or security concerns quickly.
- Are comfortable using security systems and basic technology (e.g., CCTV, access control, digital logs, or shipping software).
- Document information accurately and demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and discretion.
- Work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Can stand and walk for extended periods (approximately 75% of your shift) and lift or move packages as needed.
- Are available to work a day shift schedule, including occasional weekends or holidays as needed to support operational needs.
- Possess or have the ability to obtain a Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) Private Security Officer Certification.
- Have or can obtain CPR/AED certification.
