Team
The Enterprise Infrastructure (EI) Application Delivery Team within Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) provides production support for applications which includes Incident, Change, Problem, Release and SRE Management.We partner with our key stakeholders in Information Technology and business teams to deploy new functionalities, software fixes and support applications in a wide range of infrastructures and products.
Role
We are seeking a highly motivated technologist to join our support and site reliability engineering team. In this role, you will provide production support and operations excellence for applications and infrastructure that are part of the FFIO Business Unit. Your key partners are Fund Accounting (Fixed Income and Equity, Money Market and Institutional Products), Pricing, Cash Hub, Trade Hub and DAL accounting Technology / Business Teams. - Bachelor's degree or higher in a technology related field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science) required, master’s degree is a plus.
- Knowledge in Business/Finance is preferred but not mandatory.
- Financial Services Industry experience is preferred.
- 5 + years of hands-on experience deploying and / or supporting highly distributed multi-tiered systems at scale.
- 1-2 years of experience in cloud environment (AWS) and migration skills. Experience with building and operating highly resilient platforms in AWS cloud environments.
- 1-2 years of experience in software development with Python, Linux Scripting with a focus on SDLC and automation.
- 1-2 years of experience with Ansible. Proven experience, demonstrating automation of system configurations, deployment and orchestration.
- Hands on experience with container orchestration, preferably with Kubernetes.
- Experience operating and implementing distributed and highly concurrent service-based
- Proven technical background with high degree of comfort with Linux, Oracle Databases, Cloud Technologies and ITSM-based Methodologies.
- Must have experience working in a production support role and building reliability through Observability and resiliency practices.
- Must have experience working with a relational database system.
- Nice to have experience with batch scheduling tools (Example: Autosys / Control-M) and ETL Processing.
The Skills You Bring
- Ability to automate with various scripting languages (Python, Shell Scripting, etc)
- Solid understanding of Cloud Computing, DevOps concepts including CI / CD Pipelines.
- Hands-on Kubernetes skills and knowledge.
- Hands-on experience with one or more Observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Open Telemetry, Datadog, etc).
- Experienced in instrumentation with systems skills on building and operating, monitoring, logging, alerting services of distributed applications at scale.
- Proven experience in maintaining scalability and resiliency of complex environments.
- Demonstrated ability to apply modern monitoring tools (Datadog, Splunk etc).
- Provides a mixture of Techno-functional expertise and assists in crisis management for major system outages or issues with major impact to the business. Consults with application development and business groups on problems, incidents, service requests, patch upgrades, release upgrades, infrastructure updates.
- Passionate to learn new technologies and solving technological problems.
