Social Studies Teacher-HS FT FacultyUIW MissionPosition SummarySt. Anthony Catholic High School (SACHS), a division of the University of the Incarnate Word, seeks a Social Studies teacher for the 2025-2026 academic year. All teachers are expected to teach within the mission of St. Anthony Catholic High School and our core values of Honesty & Integrity; Community; Service & Social Justice; Scholarship; and Holistic Education. SACHS is a private college preparatory Catholic high school. Position reports to the Principal.Essential FunctionsJob DutiesKnowledge Skills and Abilities• Knowledge of core academic subject assigned.• Demonstrates oral and written proficiency.• Knowledge of and ability to apply best practices for classroom management.• Knowledge of and ability to differentiate instruction and apply academic accommodations.• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.• Strong technology skills.Required EducationBachelor's degree in social studies or equivalent, or a minimum of 24 credit hours in Social Studies.Required Work ExperienceOne (1) year of experience working with high school students in an academic setting.Preferred Qualifications• Previous high school teaching experience.• Minimum 12 college credit hours in education.• Teacher certification.Required Certifications, Licenses or RegistrationsThe Archdiocese of San Antonio requires non-certified teachers to have 12 college credit hours in education.
