Reporting Relationships
Reports to: Direction is received from the Athletic Director
Supervision Exercised: Supervision is exercised over various full and part-time coaching staff and associated personnel within the athletic program.

Job Summary
Assist the Athletic Director with managing all phases of the athletic program. This dual role serves as the Assistant Softball Coach and includes various department responsibilities throughout the academic year, with a strong focus on athletic operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Additional related duties may be assigned.

Sports Coordinator Essential Duties in concert with the Athletic Director
Operations & Event Management
• Oversee game-day management, logistics, and venue supervision when not coaching.
• Coordinate team travel logistics including bus charters, car rentals, and hotel accommodations.
• Process financial documentation including travel requisitions, purchase orders, and game-day pay memos.
• Administer athletic contracts for intercollegiate sports and officials, tracking distribution and filing.
• Control office inventory by streamlining the ordering and maintenance of supplies.
• Coordinate internal sports contracts and departmental documentation.
• Assist in organization of Booster Club fundraisers and athletic marketing projects.
• Assist in producing and distributing departmental printed materials.
Leadership and Strategic Collaboration:
• Engage actively in all departmental and Athletic Program meetings.
• Collaborate with leadership to direct strategy for the overall athletic program.
• Execute administrative tasks and special projects as assigned by the Athletic Director.
• Foster positive, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders using high tact and courtesy.
• Maintain a reliable, consistent, and regular attendance record.
Academic Support & Compliance
• Champion academic success by enforcing department policies, including mandatory study halls, progress reports, and academic advising.
• Monitor credit requirements to ensure student-athletes maintain continuous academic eligibility.
• Connect struggling students with campus resources like tutoring centers and writing labs to boost performance.
• Enforce adherence to the RVC and NJCAA Student-Athlete Code of Conduct during all team activities.
• Maintain strict compliance with all NJCAA rules, regulations, and institutional policies.

Assistant Coach Essential Duties
Program Operations & Logistics
• Coordinate team logistics, including contest scheduling, official practices, travel arrangements, and facility use.
• Manage athletic equipment by overseeing the purchasing, routine maintenance, and inventory for the softball program.
• Execute annual events by assisting in the coordination of all softball camps, clinics, and special events.
• Administer eligibility documentation for timely submission to the NJCAA.
• Facilitate transfer activities to support student-athletes transitioning to four-year institutions.
Coaching & Student-Athlete Development
• Organize and execute daily practice sessions, game strategies, and contest coaching.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, home/away contests, and official team travel to ensure safety.
• Track and implement a targeted scouting and recruitment plan to meet department roster goals.
Media, Safety & Reporting
• Promote program visibility by reporting game results on the RVC Athletics website and official social media channels.
• Manage safety protocols by completing and submitting injury reports directly to the Head Athletic Trainer.
• Compile comprehensive post-season summaries for the Athletic Director, detailing team statistics, roster awards, standings, and academic metrics.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's Degree, preferably in coaching education, physical education, or sport administration, is required.
2. Playing or coaching experience is required.
3. Ability to work independently.
4. Ability to take on many different projects at one time.
5. Support the initiation and ongoing development of the colleges' Athletic Strategic Plan.
6. Strong interpersonal and human relations skills.
