The Role
As Employee Compliance Squad Leader, you blend product and leadership expertise with a passion for delivering results. You are the end-to-end gatekeeper of the squad mission, strategy, and tactical execution associated with delivering on strategic priorities. In an agile structure, you will partner with other Fidelity leaders to influence the broader strategic decisions, roadmaps and resource requirements, set and refine the mission, and bring together a team of chapter members to execute on specific product features. You ensure your applications are available, stable, performant, and supported when required. You will enable squad members to work iteratively, innovate through testing and experimentation and learn from failures while celebrating success. You are committed to developing your own expertise and knowledge to ensure you bring the latest thinking to your role.
- Ensure alignment on the what and when work is to be performed through ongoing planning and prioritization of a product backlog.
- Define, refine and communicate the squads' mission and roadmap to empower and establish team and partner support and alignment.
- Anticipate, discover, and prioritize client / partner needs
- Act with a data-focused approach to understand customer needs, translate strategic objectives into action, and prioritize to improve value delivered.
- Grasp sophisticated product features and break them into clear and concise stories with well-defined business value and acceptance criteria.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships as you work cross-functionally across Fidelity to deliver business outcomes and seek out the expertise of colleagues to advise on your approach.
- Define, evaluate, and communicate results against acceptance criteria while removing impediments
- Collaborate and coordinate with Chapter Leaders and Scrum Master to build squad capacity and capability and enable squad member growth, development, and learning
- Make informed trade-off decisions to strike the right balance between quality, cost, and timelines.
- Supervise and control related cost and maintenance
- Emphasize continuous improvement
The Skills You Bring & Expertise You Bring
- Education – BS or MS in technology related field (Engineering, Computer Science etc.)
- 5+ years of experience in leading technology teams or technology initiatives.
- Prior experience in Ethics Compliance / Registration & Licensing Compliance technology is required.
- A learning and growth demeanor with a passion for delivering quantifiable value to our customers and Fidelity.
- Experience understanding customer & business needs and leading distributed cross-functional software development teams.
- Skilled at using data and insights, letting facts lead the way to develop effective strategic product roadmaps.
- Experience with Scrum/Agile development is preferred.
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining dynamic products and solutions.
- Ability to focus on execution and identify, communicate, and remove impediments to progress.
- Capable of leading, influencing, and motivating colleagues without formal authority, and have a track record of building high-performing teams.
- Dedication to understanding and learning about customer needs and requirements.
- Jira and Jira Align experience is preferred.
The Team
Compliance Technology (CT) provides strategic technology support to Fidelity Legal, Risk & Compliance teams. Compliance technology is currently going through a transformation to simplify and modernize technology solutions while continuing to be a strategic advisor to the business. This role in Corporate Services Technology will provide technology support for Employee Compliance program. The role can be based in one of the approved US based locations (preferably Westlake, TX) with frequent travels to other Fidelity locations. Be a part of this dynamic team!
