The Role
We’re seeking a collaborative, team‑oriented Product Owner with strong electronic trading expertise to drive the planning, execution, and delivery of algorithmic trading capabilities. In this role, you’ll work across business and technology teams to translate needs into well‑designed, high‑quality platform solutions.
As Squad Leader, you are accountable for defining what we build, when we build it, and how work is executed. You manage a roadmap supporting Digital Assets Product and Operations, navigate cross‑squad dependencies, and fully own the product backlog. Working within an Agile structure, you guide the team to deliver trading solutions that enhance efficiency, quality, and effectiveness. You foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, learning, and high‑quality delivery—ensuring releases are seamless and the business is fully prepared. You invest in developing both the squad and yourself, helping bring the latest thinking into team culture.
This role is ideal for a passionate, execution‑focused leader with experience in:
- Designing and managing diverse electronic trading solutions
- Analyzing data with SQL or similar query languages
- Understanding trading market structure across crypto, FX, or equities
- Driving execution quality and defining asset‑class‑specific standards
- Working with electronic trading protocols (e.g., FIX)
- Inspiring and empowering teams around a shared mission and roadmap
- Acting as the voice of the client to ensure high‑value outcomes
- Communicating dependencies, progress, and KPIs clearly to stakeholders
- Partnering with Engineering and Scrum Masters to build team capacity and capability
- Making balanced trade‑off decisions across quality, cost, and timelines
- Increasing delivery effectiveness from planning through implementation
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA a plus
- 10+ years of experience leading digital or platform capability development teams with business and systems analysis experience
- 7+ years of experience with electronic trading platform capabilities with demonstrated experiences in delivery of quantitative / analytical capabilities
- Agile delivery with Jira and Jira Align experience preferred
- Financial services and trading API experience; custody and crypto experience a plus
- Roadmap Management: Ability to define, sequence, and prioritize work using quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Discovery: Skilled in creating current/future‑state diagrams, process flows, and use cases that set delivery efforts up for success
- Planning: Experience coordinating across teams, resolving dependencies, and facilitating quarterly planning
- Backlog Ownership: Ensures epics/stories are clear, value‑based, and have strong acceptance criteria; maintains sprint‑ready backlog
- Quality Execution: Detail‑oriented with a commitment to flawless business readiness and seamless implementations
- Partnerships: Builds strong relationships and promotes a collaborative culture
- Leadership: Influences and motivates without formal authority; fosters engaged, empowered teams
The Team
Fidelity Digital Assets® is a subsidiary of Fidelity Investments dedicated to building products and services that help institutional and retail investors access digital asset markets. Fidelity Investments began researching blockchain technology and digital assets solutions in 2014, where years of research and development have provided us with the deep expertise necessary to build the future of finance.
This Squad Leader sits within the Product Delivery team that is central to enhancing and delivering platform capabilities that serve Retail and Institutional clients to offer Digital Asset products to their customers. Members of our team are highly dynamic, team-oriented and partner with each other, business partners and their squads. We lead by example, seek to continuously improve, deliver creative solutions that solve complex challenges and/or advance the business, and seek to increase the value we provide through our product delivery practice.
The base salary range for this position is $126,000-255,000 USD per year.Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
