We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong mainframe development expertise and working knowledge of distributed technologies to join the R4 Responsive Security Master team, which manages reference data and pricing systems within Brokerage Recordkeeping Technology.
In this hands-on engineering role, you will collaborate closely with business partners, architects, and engineering teams to support and maintain high volume production platforms that serve millions of Fidelity customers. You will focus on production support, incident remediation, application enhancements, and continuous improvement across both mainframe and distributed environments.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: Proven expertise with mainframe technologies and working knowledge of distributed systems.
• Solid hands-on development skills in mainframe languages and technologies (Cobol, CICS, VSAM, JCL, utilities, FileAid, Endevor, debuggers, schedulers, etc.).
• Proficiency with the DB2 database management system and database processing concepts.
• Extensive experience in SQL language.
• Deploy and support software releases into production environments.
• Strong knowledge of and experience with the overall testing process.
• Any knowledge or experience in distributed technologies, cloud computing, and/or Java programming is a plus.
• Specific Certifications: Relevant certifications in mainframe and distributed technologies are desirable.
• Skills: Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities. Capacity to successfully implement complex solutions in a dynamic environment.
