Description of Position:
The staff accountant performs the daily responsibilities of Corporate Accounting related to the review, analysis, reconciliation and maintenance of the balance sheet and corporate overhead accounts on a monthly basis.

Organizational Relationships:
The staff accountant will report directly to the Corporate Accounting Manager. The staff accountant will interact directly with various corporate and regional personnel in the performance of daily general ledger responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:

This position follows a hybrid schedule and requires working onsite at our Corporate Office located in Fort Lauderdale.

  • Review Treasury activity and post banking transactions, accruals and debt entries.
  • Prepare journal entries based on information gathered from different financial systems and corporate departments.
  • Account for T&E transactions on a daily basis.
  • Record various journal entries submitted by corporate and regional departments for intercompany and month-end close.
  • A/R and Billing for new lines of business.
  • Prepare, distribute and answer questions on corporate, regional and store statements.
  • Perform monthly SG&A variance analysis against budget for various corporate departments.
  • Perform monthly review, maintenance, and reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare quarterly work-papers and reconciliations for external auditors.
  • Maintain proper documentation for processes pertaining to position.
  • Assist in the planning, execution and reporting of special projects undertaken by the Corporate Accounting department.
  • Assist other teams within the Controller’s group during quarter-end and year-end reporting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Four (4) year degree in Accounting
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong MS Excel skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PeopleSoft experience
