Why This Role Rocks (Position Overview)
As a Staff Accountant Associate, you’ll play a key part in keeping our financial engine running smoothly. You’ll support two Staff Accountants, gain hands‑on experience with journal entries and reconciliations, and contribute to special projects that impact both our internal teams and field partners. This role is perfect for someone who loves numbers, enjoys solving problems, and thrives in a dynamic, detail‑oriented environment. It’s a fantastic opportunity to grow your accounting career and make a real impact from day one. This role will be based at the Texas Roadhouse Support Center located in Louisville, Kentucky.
What’s On Your Plate (Responsibilities)
- Prepare journal entries—including accruals and reclasses—for both P&L and balance sheet
- Review monthly P&L expenses allocated to store back‑office systems
- Reconcile accounts and prepare supporting balance sheet documentation
- Compile monthly store P&Ls and explain fluctuations using standard guidelines
- Translate financial insights for non‑financial partners in the field
- Bring fresh ideas to streamline and automate internal accounting processes
- Support field‑facing initiatives and internal special projects
- Work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, highly accurate, team‑driven environment
Your Recipe for Success (Requirements)
- Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Candidates with 60+ college credit hours will also be considered
- 1 year of related accounting experience preferred
- Proficient in Excel and Outlook
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX and Cadency is a plus
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non‑financial partners
- Detail‑oriented, curious, and eager to contribute to process improvements
- Comfortable working in a dynamic team environment
