What you'll do as a Staff Corp Cash Accounts Accountant:
  • Works under the supervision of the accounting manager for corporate accounting to review and record transactions from the corporate bank account to the general ledger accounts.
  • Analyzes daily transaction data and prepares journal entries related to accounting period close; prepares reconciliations for specified GL accounts and prepares correcting journal entries as needed.
  • Analyzes and interprets complex accounting records; reviews and records transactions related to revenue payments, purchase or sale of fixed assets; state and federal taxes including income, sales and use, unemployment, and payroll taxes; and assists with financial audits.
  • Assists in preparing regular and ad hoc internal reports and schedules related to the company's cash transactions.
  • Completes other independent projects as assigned.
  • Supports the overall goals of the McLane Company Home Office Accounting Department.
  • Communicates with a wide variety of personnel throughout the organization.

Qualifications you'll bring as a Staff Corp Cash Accounts Accountant:
  • Have a bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting or Finance.
  • Two or more years of experience in an accounting or financial environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with an eye toward detail.
  • Advanced computer skills including Excel and a major ERP system; Oracle preferred Have strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Progression toward CPA certification preferred.
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
