Active Kentucky RN or compact state RN license, Temporary Work Permit (TWP), or active compact state RN license that is in good standing and American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification for the Healthcare Provider valid for at least 6 months after employment.
Physical Requirements
The essential functions for this position include the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds on a daily basis and 25-50 pounds frequently; as well as stand, walk and sit for long periods of time. The conditions of work may involve exposure to communicable diseases, hazards of radiation, and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments.

Day shift primarily, but other shifts and weekends as needed to meet the needs of the department.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for Staff Development within the Oncology Service line and other areas as needed and assigned.
The Staff Development Specialist is responsible for education and staff development of hospital nursing staff. This position provides the necessary oversight, guidance, education, and skills to onboard new clinical nursing staff and management of ongoing competency and professional development of nurses. Major Job Responsibilities for this position are: Develops implements and evaluates educational strategies and programs. Identifies trends in patient outcomes to determine performance improvement activities. Provides support and clinical expertise to facilitate/coordinate progress toward meeting performance improvement goals. Integrates research, evidence based knowledge of nursing and resource management into practice environment. Participates in the development of health care policy and related education within the institution and community. Assists in facilitating transition to practice for the new graduate. Serves as a clinical resource and change agent. Demonstrates excellent leadership, teaching, interpersonal skills and an understanding of organization and systems.

MSN and 3 years Oncology experience preferred. Previous experience as an educator preferred.
