30 hours per week; Mostly scheduled Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm but there will be some evenings and weekends.
Job Summary
This part-time, 30-hour/week position in POWER will focus on developing and managing the Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP) at UK. The role will involve conducting outreach, creating programming, and coordinating support services for students in recovery with a trauma informed approach. The primary responsibility will be to establish a supportive environment for students in recovery to help them thrive at UK. The role will collaborate with campus partners to address both clinical and non-clinical support needs. The position will also engage in promotional efforts, build relationships with on-campus and off-campus resources, and foster a sense of community for students in recovery.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support Students in Recovery. Help students through case management and one on one and group support to examine and consider distinctive approaches to their decision to be in recovery.
- Create a Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP). Capitalizing on student involvement in our Collegiate Recovery Community, expand programs and services to facilitate student success, advocate for students in recovery, and expand awareness of students, faculty and staff about the experiences of students in recovery.
- Manage CRP Operations and Plan for Excellence. The coordinator will hire a team of student employees to enact plans for operational excellence and long-term program sustainability.
- Establish Essential Partnerships. Engage campus and community stakeholders that will the expand human and fiscal resources needed to achieve operational success and long-term preservation of the program.
- Commit to Continuous Improvement. Apply an ethos of learning to CRP team, ensuring ongoing attention to good practices in CRP delivery as well as planning for skills developments across all aspects of supporting students in recovery.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of collegiate recovery communities and recovery processes.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with a demonstrated commitment to collaboration. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Strong analysis skills to evaluate data and create impactful reports.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Experience with supervision and mentoring students.
- Knowledge of evidence-based interventions for alcohol and other drugs.
- Grant writing experience.
- Experience with project management and program evaluation.

Preferred Education/Experience
Prefer a Bachelor’s degree or higher in public health, counseling, health education, social work, or related field, with at least one year of relevant experience in alcohol/other drug prevention, program development, or recovery services in a college setting.
