Registered Nurse (RN) + National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) + Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Physical Requirements

Staff must be able to push/pull at least 50lbs. Staff must be able to provide excellent and efficient primary patient care in a transport setting (by ground in an ambulance, rotary aircraft or fixed-wing aircraft).

Shift

Must be able to work three, 12-hour, shifts per week 7PM to 730AM; will also be required to work some weekends and holidays.

Job Summary

The position of the Stroke Transfer Coordinator/UKHC is necessary for the safe, effective and efficient care of the patient. Currently managed in the Cardiovascular ICU only.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

RNs in the Stroke Transfer Coordinator role will work in conjunction with the stroke program coordinator, respond to stroke alerts, perform data collection and auditing and manage stroke alert patient throughout the care continuum.The position of the Stroke Transfer Coordinator/UKHC is necessary for the safe, effective and efficient care of the patient.
