Job Summary

You must be a current UK student to apply for this position. This position is located off campus with a local Lexington employer and is not affiliated with UK.

We’re a diversified organic farm dedicated to producing high-quality, sustainably raised food for our community. We’re passionate about local food and are looking for friendly, dependable team members who share that enthusiasm to represent our farm at the Lexington Farmers Markets that we attend.

Location: Lexington, KY at Greyline Station

Tasks:
  • Load, transport, and set up the market booth (tables, displays, products, signage).
  • Maintain a clean, attractive, and organized display throughout the market.
  • Engage with customers — answer questions, share our farm story, and handle sales transactions.
  • Restock products and manage inventory during the market.
  • Break down and pack up booth materials at the end of the market.
  • Represent the farm professionally and enthusiastically at all times.
  • Pick up and return the market vehicle before and after market (Preferred)

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

REQUIRED Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Friendly, outgoing personality and excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong sales and communication skills — comfortable talking about food, cooking, and farming.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently once trained.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Attention to detail when handling cash or digital payments.
  • Team player with a positive, proactive attitude.


PREFERRED Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Passion for local food systems, sustainable agriculture, and community connection.
  • Experience at farmers markets, farm stands, or other direct-to-consumer food sales.
  • Basic knowledge of meats, vegetables, and food handling.
  • Bonus: Comfortable driving a box truck or pulling a small trailer.
