Superintendent- Underground Utilities
What You'll Do
As the Superintendent, you'll take ownership of day-to-day field operations on underground utility projects supporting large-scale data center construction. You'll be responsible for delivering safe, high-quality work while keeping projects on schedule and maintaining strong communication with project teams and trade partners.
Responsibilities include:- Lead all daily field operations on assigned underground utility projects.
- Manage crews installing water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and other underground infrastructure supporting data center developments.
- Plan daily work activities while coordinating manpower, equipment, subcontractors, and material deliveries.
- Maintain project schedules while proactively identifying and resolving field challenges.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture through daily leadership, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), toolbox talks, and routine safety inspections.
- Ensure work meets project specifications, quality standards, and owner expectations.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and compliance activities throughout construction.
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, utility profiles, and project schedules.
- Partner closely with Project Managers to maintain budgets, production goals, and project milestones.
- Mentor Foremen and field personnel while developing the next generation of construction leaders.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for a Superintendent who enjoys leading people just as much as building projects.
Preferred qualifications:- 5+ years of Superintendent experience in heavy civil construction.
- Strong experience managing underground utility installations including water, sewer, storm drain, and drainage systems.
- Experience leading crews on large commercial, industrial, municipal, or infrastructure projects.
- Working knowledge of grading, excavation, earthwork, and site development.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, utility plans, and specifications.
- Strong leadership, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Previous data center or mission critical experience is a plus, but not required.
