The Role
The Strategic Market Relationship Management Team Lead (SVP Group Manager) provides senior leadership for a multi‑state portfolio of Workplace Investing Strategic Market corporate clients. This role leads a team of 10 SVP‑level Managing Directors (MDs) to deliver exceptional client satisfaction, retention, and long‑term growth.
This position also serves as a Supervisory Principal, ensuring full compliance oversight for all registered representatives on the team.
The Experience and Skills You Bring
- Drive client retention, satisfaction, and business growth across a multistate book of business.
- Shape and influence service models aligned with client goals and economic value.
- Lead strategic service delivery improvements and execution of client‑level action plans.
- Build and deepen senior‑level client relationships across HR, Treasury, Legal, Procurement, and other key functions.
- Serve as Executive Sponsor for strategic, complex, or at‑risk client relationships.
- Provide strategic direction, coaching, and performance management for a tenured team of SVP‑level MDs.
- Set individual development goals and strengthen team consultative, technical, and leadership capabilities.
- Foster a diverse, inclusive, and high‑performance team culture.
- Build and maintain a strong internal and external talent pipeline.
- Drive cross‑functional alignment to support client retention, loyalty, and growth.
- Lead repricing, renewals, and competitive rebids in partnership with MDs and internal teams.
- Engage internal business leaders on joint planning and client strategies.
- Maintain strong relationships with regional and national consulting firms and key industry influencers.
- Provide Supervisory Principal oversight for all registered representatives.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory, supervisory, and firm‑wide policies.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Extensive institutional client management experience across large, multi‑product portfolios.
- Minimum 5 years of management experience leading senior‑level professionals.
- Series 7, 24, and 63 required within 90 days of hire.
- Demonstrated strength in complex negotiation and influencing senior executives.
- Strong revenue management skills and financial acumen.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while balancing client and organizational needs.
- Proven leadership in coaching, career development, and succession planning.
- Strong consultative sales skills and executive‑level communication, presentation, and facilitation capabilities.
