The Role
The Fidelity Institutional Wealth Management Services group is looking for a highly motivated and experienced systems analyst to be part of its diverse, globally distributed team of IT professionals responsible for the development and maintenance of IWMS client platforms and offerings.
The focus of this position will entail driving the technical analysis to modernize a diverse suite of applications that support our intermediary (correspondent and advisor) business! The systems analyst will collaborate extensively with partners across various squads, product areas and domains. They will be a key member of an agile modernization squad and will be actively involved in all aspects and phases of the product delivery. The individual will need to gain a deep understanding of our existing applications and products to assist in requirements and design of updated technology solutions.

The Team
The IWMS Platform & Technology domain is within the Fund and Brokerage Operations & Technology division. IWMS exists to enable our business partners to win their respective marketplaces by crafting, building, and maintaining the technology platforms and products of Fidelity’s Institutional business units. The Account Authorization and Search squad is part of the Operations Experience and Platform Foundations product area supporting modernization of legacy capabilities.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
  • 8+ years of Systems Analysis experience within the IT field, financial services, or related environment
  • Bachelor's degree required. Technology-related field preferred.
  • Experience working in an environment with multiple applications, patterns and integrations including mainframe and Cloud
  • Relevant experience in various systems analysis methodologies, including data analysis, data mapping, systems feasibility and impact analysis, flowcharts, uses case development, story mapping & writing, set-up/configuration of systems, gap analysis, user acceptance testing and documentation
  • Agile/Scrum/Kanban experience is expected
  • Knowledge of API Development (SOAP, REST), AWS (Cloud) Migration, Data Design, UI Design, Batch Processing and Workflow/Process Automation is strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical, facilitation, and communication skills
  • Ability to produce in a highly matrixed environment, involving multiple partners, technical groups, and COEs
  • Demonstrated ability to work across multi-functional teams
  • Technical problem solver, who can work in a demanding, fast-paced environment, engaging, collaborating and supporting capabilities across teams
  • Proactive contributor to a highly functioning team, meticulous and understands how systems applications can provide solutions to business problems and objectives
  • Knowledgeable of the financial services industry, attained through training and application experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including negotiation, communication, leadership, and influence
  • Adaptable and agile, can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines and make project adjustments to effectively prioritize and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Successfully take the lead on issues, and gain resolution in a timely manner

  • Lead and contribute to product modernization through technical visioning/solutions
  • Examine and analyze existing IT systems/business models and identify requirements
  • Collaborate with multiple other Agile teams (Scaled Agile) to lead dependencies and scope
  • Evaluate design of existing systems to judge their functionality, efficiency, reliability, performance, usage, maintainability, and cost of ownership
  • Work with business and technology partners to define the scope of problems/issues, in terms of business and/or system requirements and processes
  • Write user stories which include concise and clear system requirements that will be used by developers to implement modern, cloud-based solutions across varied technology stacks
  • Lead backlog refinement sessions. Translate complex business needs into clear, practical, requirements/user stories. Research and evaluate alternative solutions
  • Produce use case documents and functional solutions to achieve project goals
  • Sheppard implementation of modernized systems including data migration where needed

Please see the below pay rate range for the work location of Rhode Island only: $55.00-89.76 per hour.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
