The Targeted Marketing Specialist plays a key role in developing and executing data-driven, multi-channel marketing strategies that engage current and prospective credit union members. Collaborating with the Marketing Department, this role works to deliver personalized, timely, and relevant marketing across email, digital banking platforms, segmented marketing tools and more. The ideal candidate brings experience in direct marketing or marketing analytics and thrives in an analytical environment.

Job-Specific Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes segmented marketing strategies tailored to diverse member needs, lifecycle stages, and financial behaviors.
  • Maintains and organizes the Marketing campaign calendar, integrating product initiatives, member journey communications, and seasonal promotions.
  • Plans and executes end-to-end email marketing campaigns using CRM and automation tools; includes segmentation, testing, deployment, and performance tracking.
  • Develops SMS, push notifications, and targeted ads through our digital banking platform
  • Collaborates with internal creative teams and external vendors to ensure campaigns complement each other across print, digital, and branch marketing efforts.
  • Leverages marketing analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, CRM dashboards) to monitor channel performance and identify areas for optimization.
  • Maintains strong relationships with technology partners, print vendors, and third-party platforms to ensure efficient campaign execution and reporting.
  • Analyzes KPIs such as open rates, CTR, and conversions, and translates insights into actionable recommendations to improve targeting and outcomes.
  • Oversees the organization of audience lists, campaign assets, and deployment schedules to ensure consistent, compliant communication delivery.
  • Manages marketing inventory and oversees reordering of branded materials, disclosures, and member collateral.
  • Stays informed on credit union regulations and compliance requirements related to member communications and data use.
  • Executes various Marketing administrative duties.

Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office setting.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications are the minimum threshold a candidate must meet in order to be considered for this role.

  • A minimum of three years of related work experience.

Additional Qualifications and Skills:

The following qualifications are strongly preferred. If you meet some, but not all, you are still encouraged to apply; we value employees with a willingness to learn.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with financial services marketing, regulatory considerations, and content development is a plus.
  • Proficiency in marketing automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or similar).
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with a focus on data accuracy and campaign tracking.

Additional Information
  • Standard Hours/Schedule: 35 hours per week
    • Required to be onsite a minimum 3 days per month, plus additional days as needed.

  • Pre-Employment Screening: Credit, Criminal, Identity, Prohibited Parties (OFAC - Office of Foreign Assets Control).

Work Format Details

This is a position that is based at a Harvard campus location with some remote work options available. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. All remote work must be performed within one of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, and California (CA for exempt positions only). Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
