The Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Ops Support Engineer to support a high-visibility, on-site technology environment within Fidelity’s Center for Applied Technology (FCAT). This is an on-site role that is responsible for ensuring the reliability and smooth operation of systems used for executive briefings, client engagements, demonstrations, and hands?on exploration within the Experience Center and Makerspace.
You will configure, test, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide variety of hardware and software platforms that enable interactive and emerging technology experiences. The role also involves providing in?person support for associates and visitors as they engage with tools such as AR/VR/XR devices, AI?enabled applications, IoT devices, and 3D printing equipment.
Working closely with FCAT engineers, incubator teams, and experience leads, you will play a key part in delivering seamless visitor interactions and supporting the exploration of frontier technologies.
The purpose of your role
As a member of the FCAT Visitor Experience Team, you will ensure reliable operation of interactive experiences, AV systems, and hardware/software installations while supporting associates and clients in a dynamic environment by:
- Providing engineering support for software applications used across the Experience Center and Makerspace
- Identifying and resolving technical issues, risks, and roadblocks to maintain system availability and stability
- Supporting the setup, configuration, testing, and maintenance of hardware, software, and AV systems used in briefings, client engagements, and hands-on experiences
- Performing daily operational checks, OS and firmware updates, and preventative maintenance to ensure consistent performance
- Serving as a visible and approachable point of contact in the Makerspace, building relationships with visitors, volunteers, and associates while assisting with device setup and demonstrations of new tools and technologies
- Managing the on-site device fleet, including cleaning, storage, charging, inventory tracking, and lifecycle support
- Partnering and collaborating with FCAT engineers, AV teams, IT, and cross?functional partners
The skills you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field required
- Experience in Production Support and/or Technical Analysis, with the ability to resolve incidents across distributed or multi?location environments
- Proven skills in root cause analysis
- Ability to rapidly learn new technologies and adapt to evolving technical environments
- Proficiency in troubleshooting IT issues across hardware, software, and network connectivity
- Experience with macOS and Windows operating systems
- Technical design and analysis skills and work in fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate successfully across technical and non-technical teams
- Ability to work closely with technical partners and development teams to resolve issues and build strong working relationships
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high quality and operational standards
- Familiarity with immersive and emerging technologies such as AR/VR/XR, game engines, (e.g., Unity, Unreal), 3D modeling, and WebXR libraries is a plus
- Experience with programming languages like JavaScript, C#, iOS and Android app development and support is a plus

The Fidelity Center for Applied Technology (FCAT) supports the entire Fidelity business with a mission to catalyze innovation for Fidelity and its clients. We are a group within FCAT that is leading efforts on exploring AI technologies to disrupt business models, and provide new opportunities with new products and services.
Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
This role is based in Boston, MA and the hourly pay range is $50.00/hr to $55.00/hr
