Job Summary

In September 2024, UK HealthCare announced the launch of a new UKHC Innovation (“UKHCI”) program, an expansion of UK Innovate, to support the acceleration of innovative solutions to improve patient care, including through research translation, product design and development, and partnership. UKHCI is seeking a Technology Development Program Director to lead cross-functional technology, product and process development projects through a user-centered, agile and iterative design process to translate unmet needs of UK HealthCare to ready-to-scale solutions for adoption to improve patient care. Reporting to the Senior Executive Director of Technology Development and R&D Partnerships, this position will be responsible for:

· Manage a portfolio of projects and cross-functional teams through an iterative and stakeholder-engaged process, including opportunity discovery, scoping, technology assessment, rapid prototyping, testing, iteration and business case development stages.

· Design, manage and deploy the Technology Development Process, including documentation, templates, workflows, dashboards and related training programs based upon user-centric design and Agile principles.

· Recruit cross-functional project teams and task groups that draw from available UKHCI partner resources including labs, subject-matter experts, research centers and institutes, developers, startups and technology providers to complete projects according to scope and by achieving milestones and important deadlines.

· Coordinate with UK Innovate and other UK partner networks to proactively develop a network of technology and service providers that offer solutions that can integrate into Innovation Development project opportunities.

· Partner with UK HealthCare leadership, including operations, information, strategy and IT teams, to develop business cases for new innovations requiring additional capital investment and resources for full deployment and integration. Provide continued support as needed to integration teams throughout the deployment and scale-up process, and for broader commercialization opportunities with other Advancing Kentucky Together Network partners.

· Maintain a backlog of project opportunities according to prioritization from the Director of Product Management, UKHCI leadership and stakeholder priorities, and UKHCI partner resource capabilities. Coordinate closely with Community Health Innovation, Health Care Innovation Challenge and commercialization teams to develop project pipeline and technology translation opportunities.
