Job Summary

The School of Architecture in the University of Kentucky College of Design seek applicants for a full-time, tenure-ineligible Temporary Assistant Professor to teach design studios as well as architecture related electives during the academic year 2026-27.

This position provides the opportunity to teach motivated students in a program committed to the history and theory of architecture, design innovation and experimentation, and building technology and fabrication. Teaching experience in design studios is required. Professional experience in architecture is preferred. Applicants with demonstrated passion for and innovative ideas about preparing students for the future will be prioritized. The successful candidate will also possess an enthusiastic desire to explore, define, and expand their design research agenda as the position provides the opportunity to share research in a public lecture to college and professional partners.

Applicants should have an earned an M.Arch or Ph.D. in Architecture . A professional degree in the field (M.Arch or equivalent) is required. Application materials should demonstrate expertise in architectural design as well as a comprehensive understanding of current architectural practices and contemporary modes of design and production.

The selected candidate will be jointly appointed to a full-time temporary, tenure-ineligible 9-month faculty position in the School of Architecture, starting August 16, 2026. The initial appointment will not exceed one (1) year. The salary is competitive and based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
