Tournament Coordinator
Job Summary
The Tournament Coordinator will provide support for the Midwest Competition department including responsibilities pertaining to Junior and Adult tournaments. They will assist with training and educating tournament directors, parents, and providers on USTA Tournament Regulations, Serve Tennis, and best practices. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and has excellent communication skills and is able to work well independently as well as on a team. Knowledge of Google Suite is a plus. Must be willing to work occasional hours and weekends outside of the regular work schedule.
Job Description
- Oversee the tournament application, sanctioning, and approval process for Midwest district-level junior and adult tournaments
- Regularly review events to confirm compliance with regulations and quality standards
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Serve Tennis and Tournament Desk software, competitive tournaments, and player rankings and ratings
- Create and provide resources and materials to support district-level tournament directors
- Coordinate logistics for junior high-performance camps
- Assist in running and/or managing a tournament desk for various adult and junior championships
- Serve as staff support for various Midwest adult and junior committees
- Ship equipment, awards, marketing items, and other materials as needed
- Various other job duties as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Four-year college degree is preferred
- USTA tournament knowledge and/or tennis playing experience preferred
- Exceptional customer service skills and/or experience with volunteers
- Administration of tennis programming, tournaments, or on court experience preferred
- Computer skills including Google Suite, TennisLink, and Serve Tennis preferred
- Must be available to work occasional weekends
