Position Summary
The Trade Marketing Channel Manager is responsible for developing and executing channel-specific marketing strategies and customer-facing programs for national and regional accounts that drive brand growth, visibility, distribution, and shopper conversion across Proximo's portfolio.
This role serves as a key connector between Brand Marketing, Sales, Commercial Planning, and customers to ensure brand strategies are translated into effective, executable marketplace programs that deliver commercial results.
The position will support the integrated planning process by providing channel expertise, customer insights, executional recommendations, and marketplace feedback to help inform business priorities and activation strategies.
Role & Responsibilities
Channel Strategy & Activation
- Develop and execute channel marketing strategies that support annual business objectives and brand priorities for key national and regional accounts.
- Lead the development of customer-facing programs, retail activations, merchandising solutions, and engagement platforms that drive awareness, trial, conversion, and sales.
- Translate brand strategies into commercially relevant and executable marketplace programs.
- Identify opportunities to enhance brand visibility, shopper engagement, and customer support.
Integrated Planning & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Provide channel insights, customer perspectives, marketplace trends, and executional recommendations to support business planning.
- Partner closely with Commercial Planning, Brand Marketing, Sales, and Category Management to ensure alignment against business objectives.
- Ensure channel and customer considerations are incorporated into activation plans and business initiatives.
Customer Partnership
- Support sales teams, Regional and National accounts to align on business objectives.
- Develop selling stories, activation materials, customer presentations, and execution tools that support commercial priorities.
- Participate in customer planning meetings and business planning discussions.
Program Execution & Optimization
- Lead the execution of channel marketing initiatives from concept through implementation.
- Manage agency partners, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure flawless execution.
- Monitor program performance and identify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement.
- Conduct post-program evaluations and share key learnings across the organization.
Measurement & Insights
- Establish KPIs and measurement plans for channel marketing programs and activations.
- Analyze program performance, marketplace trends, customer insights, and business results to identify opportunities and risks.
- Leverage syndicated data, customer insights, distributor information, and internal reporting tools to support decision-making.
- Develop recommendations that improve effectiveness and return on investment.
Budget Management
- Manage ad hoc sales point of sale budget to ensure investments align with strategic priorities.
- Track spending against program performance

Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Trade Marketing, Shopper Marketing, Customer Marketing, Sales, Category Management, Brand Marketing, or related commercial functions.
- Beverage alcohol, consumer packaged goods, or related industry experience preferred.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, national or regional accounts and agency partners.
- Ability to translate strategy into executable programs that drive business results.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and business analytics tools.
The salary range for this role is a base salary of $105,500 - $140,000 along with an annual bonus, 401K match, and medical and wellness benefits. The range will vary if outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate’s experience and skill set against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.
