Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, deliver, and update effective staff trainings including classroom, virtual and eLearning formats in collaboration with department supervisor in alliance with accrediting bodies and Caron’s strategic initiatives.
    • May conduct periodic training needs assessment by conferring with management, supervisors, and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training.
    • Assist in the design and implementation of approved requested trainings related to staff clinical
    • Develop and implement training for key strategic initiatives.
  • Design, deliver and update training programs, classroom & eLearning formats for professional support training as needed or requested by leadership.
  • Be an active presenter in ongoing recurring corporate trainings such as NEO, Clinical Academy, Diversity and Inclusion, and Onboarding as needed.
  • May also be asked to become a certified instructor for CPI or CPR as needed.
  • May serve as an Employee Development coach for support staff positions across the continuum.
  • Manage a structured internship program that aligns with Caron’s mission and workforce needs by oversee all administrative aspects of Caron’s internship program across the continuum including but not limited to:
    • Recruitment, including working with educational institutions to foster relationships and manage affiliation agreements along with Caron’s Contracts specialist.
    • Scheduling of interviews, management of incoming prerequisites, and onboarding of new interns.
    • Working with departments across the continuum to place incoming interns and provide support for internship placements by collaborating on ongoing needs.
    • Facilitate internship orientation sessions and monitor intern training requirements for compliance along with LMS administrator and supervisor.
    • Oversee ongoing program evaluation to support conversion of interns into long term employees
  • Share responsibility of the technical management of Caron’s Learning Management System (LMS) and work collaboratively with department’s LMS Administrator and supervisor to maintain training plans that support best practices and state requirements.
  • Chair and participate in committees relevant to Caron Strategic Plan (might include, but not limited to, Safety Committee, Wellness Committee, Trauma-Informed Care Committee etc.)

  • Must be able to work extended hours.
  • Must be able to deliver presentations which may be lengthy or multiple in a day.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to ambulate throughout Caron’s campuses, including ascending and descending stairs.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in human services and/or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in SUD field
  • If in recovery, 2 years of continuous sobriety preferred.

  • Able to function independently in a multi-task environment as well as part of a team.
  • Must be able to communicate comfortably with all skill levels of employee.
  • Must be able to successfully interact with supervisory staff at all levels of management.
  • Must possess strong planning, research and organizational skills.
  • Able to design and deliver effective training programs which includes proven presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills required including public speaking.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

COMPETENCIES / MEASUREMENTS:

  • Deliver trainings in a professional and insightful manner- measured through participant feedback and direct observation.
  • Develop appropriate training services in response to needs assessments completed by clinical staff, and in collaboration with supervisors and leadership.
  • Establish collaborative relationships with CA Administrators and Support staff Leads, to support the growth and development of clinical services - measured through completed training needs assessment reports with Supervisors and through supervision and reports from clinical management to service their specific training needs and assess ROI.
